On December 14th the ASFC community celebrated our traditional Winterfest in a different way, with a Grinchmas theme, and it was sensational!
Following the established strict COVID protocols effectively, all attendees enjoyed the event in person and were able to walk around safely. Young and old were filled with joy, as we we welcomed 330 families in their Christmas outfits to enjoy various activities.
We had an extensive area of workshops where children could decorate balloons, be scientists doing experiments, discover the world of slime, decorate piggy banks, paint like great artists, make crafts, play educational games and much more.
To make the event even more fun, our visitors experienced jumps on the trampolines, nervous laughter on the mechanical bull, pony rides, great moves on our multicolored dance floor, marbles games, target shooting, bowling, and we even had a playground area for the little ones in the house where they had lots of fun, safely.
A special thank you goes to well-known local companies that participated in the event and made contributing by providing the community with great activities, as well as selling attractive products for these Winter holidays in the bazaar area.
The parents of our valued PTA committee were in charge of offering a delicious variety of food from traditional esquites and pan compuesto, to delicious hot dogs and hamburgers. The scrummy drinks ranged from soft drinks to hot chocolate, and all sort of cravings were covered at every food stand.
In addition, our parents released their creativity by bringing the Grinch Village to the American School, where little children and not so little children received sweets, enjoyed music, dance, decoration and fun rides on the carousel.
Like every year the Student Council was present, this time with a video game lounge area for the kids, where as a community they enjoyed the space with great talks and entertainment.
One of the most well-known academies that we have at the American School is Theater, whose participants, in partnership with the ASFC Children’s Orchestra put on a very entertaining ensemble of «The Grinch who stole Christmas» demonstrating their talent and passion for this art .
Our iconic Rock band made up of high school students made themselves heard and to the sound of percussions, bass, guitar and singing they gave rhythm to a wonderful event.
For us all at American School, it is important to generate social responsibility in each event; this time our efforts went to create a support network where the attendees could donate items for babies, children and adults, non-perishable, hygiene and basic necessities items which were received and delivered to our trusted DIF, who is always in charge of meeting the needs of the most vulnerable people in the town with a lot of love and goodwill.
The event was filled with great emotions; we managed to safely reunite the beautiful community that we have formed by sharing together after several months of isolation. If you did not have the opportunity to attend, we are waiting for you at our next event and if you want to be part of this wonderful community we will gladly welcome you!
